All Philadelphia workers, including immigrants and low-wage workers, have legal rights at work. You have the right to be paid fairly for all hours worked. You have the right to a safe and healthy workplace. You have a right to do your job without being discriminated against or harassed. But sometimes people do not know their rights or how to assert their rights. Community Legal Services set up this website so workers can know their rights and how to enforce them, and how to get help if they need it.
Workers have rights. CLS is here to help.
Know Your Rights!
Community Legal Services provides free legal help to low-wage workers in Philadelphia who are facing problems at their job, including unpaid wages, sexual harassment, health and safety concerns, and problems impacting immigrant workers. Our lawyers, paralegals, and other advocates help to get justice for workers, as well as conduct trainings in the community to educate people about their legal rights. If you have a problem at your job, select one of the issues below to learn more about your rights and the resources available to you.
Looking for Help?
Community Legal Services (CLS) provides free legal assistance and representation on employment-related issues to eligible low-income residents of Philadelphia. To qualify for legal help, your income cannot be more than 125% of the federal poverty line (in rare cases we may be able to help people with slightly higher incomes).
We are open for live in-person intake at our Center City and North Philadelphia offices as well as live intake by phone at 215-981-3700. Please listen to all the prompts, choose your issue, and leave a message. Your call will be returned in 1-2 business days. Before you call, please gather any documentation you may have related to your case, including documentation of hours worked and paystubs.
CLS provides bilingual help or interpreters at no cost as needed.
