Supervising Attorney
Maripat Pileggi joined Community Legal Services Inc. in 2007 as a staff attorney in the Health and Independence Unit. She works with clients to resolve legal problems that arise in many different government benefit programs run by the Social Security Administration, Department of Public Welfare, and the Department of Insurance.
Ms. Pileggi worked as a law student with Community Legal Services’ Energy Unit, the Women’s Law Project, the Transnational Legal Clinic at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia. She has also served as an AmeriCorps corpsmember in Philadelphia and as a volunteer English teacher at Philadelphia’s Nationalities Service Center.
Ms. Pileggi received the Equal Justice America summer fellowship award in 2006 and the Equal Justice Works summer scholarship award in 2005. Ms. Pileggi served as the Executive Editor of Production on the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Labor and Employment Law from 2006-2007.
Ms. Pileggi earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2007. She graduated summa cum laude from Temple University with a B.A. in English in 2001.
