Attorney
Mariel (she/her) started her career at Community Legal Services in 2013 as a paralegal in the Housing unit. This experience led her to apply to law school. Mariel attended University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she participated in various clinics and pro bono opportunities aimed at supporting Philadelphia’s immigrant community. She graduated magna cum laude from Penn Law in 2020. After law school, Mariel completed a Skadden Foundation Fellowship at Justice at Work PA. Her project involved assisting low-wage immigrant workers vindicate their employment rights. As of 2023, Mariel is a staff attorney in the Youth Justice Project at Community Legal Services, where she represents young people in a variety of employment related issues, from criminal record clearing to recovering unpaid wages.
