Professional Experience
Ms. Svoboda-Kindle is an attorney in the Employment Unit at Community Legal Services. Ms. Svoboda-Kindle represents clients facing a variety of employment issues, from workplace discrimination to child abuse appeals, with a special focus on criminal record barriers to employment. Ms. Svoboda-Kindle supports record-clearing efforts in Pennsylvania and beyond, particularly by supporting the implementation of Pennsylvania’s Clean Slate automated sealing law.
Before joining CLS in January 2019, Ms. Svoboda-Kindle served as an assistant public defender for 7 years at the Miami Dade Public Defender’s Office. During her time there, Ms. Svoboda-Kindle handled cases ranging from misdemeanors to murder, tried 35 cases before a jury, filed over 500 motions and conducted over 600 depositions. Ms. Svoboda-Kindle also worked for almost 4 years in a supervisory role over new attorneys, providing training and overseeing performance.
Education
Ms. Svoboda-Kindle attended law school at New York University School of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board, Competitions Division. She earned her J.D. cum laude in 2011. She graduated from Colgate University with honors, summa cum laude in 2007.
