Staff Attorney
Gillian Schaps is a Supervising Attorney in the Family Advocacy Unit at Community Legal Services. She first worked with the FAU as a legal intern, and then was an Equal Justice Works Fellow and later Staff Attorney at the Support Center for Child Advocates before to returning to CLS in 2022. While in law school, Gillian represented parents in a variety of domestic relations matters as a student attorney in the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau and served as the head of its family law unit. She received a Dean’s Scholar Prize for her work at HLAB.
Prior to law school, Gillian served parents and children as a Court Advocate at DC SAFE and as support staff at Children’s Law Center. She is also an alumna of Avodah: The Jewish Service Corps.
Having worked with families across court systems and from a multitude of perspectives, Gillian is thrilled to be back with the FAU fighting to keep families together.
