For youth with disabilities, requesting workplace accommodations can be a difficult process. This webpage offers some resources for disabled youth navigating the workforce. These include self-advocacy trainings, possible ADA-compliant disability accommodations, and fact sheets you can show your employer.
- The Job Education Network has an A-to-Z list of disabilities and accommodations. You can sort by disability, limitation, work-related function, topic, and accommodation for ADA-compliant accommodations and resources.
- ADA National Network has a “Reasonable Accommodations in the Workplace” factsheet and a printer-friendly version.
- “The 411 on Disability Disclosure: A workbook for youth with disabilities” is a longer (100 pages) workbook that is a great tool for learning more about disclosing your disability at work.
- The Learning Disabilities Association of America has an article on self-advocacy in the workplace.
