As West Philly grows, longtime homeowners must be able to stay in the communities they have fought to build. But neighbors can be forced out of their family homes when loved ones pass away and future generations do not have the deed in their names.
Community Legal Services (CLS) and the Mantua Powelton Alliance have formed the Mantua Powelton Family Home Project to prevent tangled titles and displacement. An attorney from CLS can help you draft and execute a will, power of attorney, and advance medical directive, so that you and your family can be prepared for the future.
Eligible Homeowners must:
- Live in the Mantua Powelton Alliance Service Area
- Live in your home as your primary residence
- Have household income less than 250% of the federal poverty income guidelines (e.g. $80,375 for a family of four)

The boundaries of the Mantua Powelton Alliance Service Area are approximately Mantua Avenue to the north, 40th Steet to the west, Chestnut Street to the south, and the Schuylkill River to the east.
