Senior Attorney
Nadia Hewka (she/her) is a Senior Attorney in the Employment Law Project, in the Workers Rights and Advocacy Project. She has developed specializations in representation of immigrant workers and particularly undocumented workers, sexual harassment, and retaliation. She has successfully argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Her advocacy work has centered on issues of concern for low wage workers, such as raising the minimum wage, wage theft enforcement, paid sick leave, and domestic workers rights. She is one of the founders of the Coalition for Restaurant Safety and Health, a project designed to prevent sexual harassment in Philadelphia restaurants.
Nadia served as the Board Chair of the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition for six years. She served two terms as the president of CLS’ attorneys union.
In 2008, Nadia received the Excellence Award, presented by the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, in recognition of her work at CLS. In 2013 she received the Crystal Eastman award from PhilaPOSH, and in 2019 she received a Union Empowerment award from Philadelphia CLUW.
She received her J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1995, graduating cum laude, and her B.A from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990.
