Zakya Hall (she/her) serves as Communications and Content Manager at Community Legal Services of Philadelphia (CLS). Zakya takes the lead on writing content for CLS, including press releases, publications, website content, award nominations, and other written materials. She also implements CLS’s media strategy, including preparing clients and advocates for media opportunities, fielding press requests, and contributing to media campaigns.
Prior to joining CLS, Zakya was Membership and Communications Manager at the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations (PACDC). In this role, she developed programming for PACDC’s Community Development Leadership Institute, edited annual publications of PACDC magazine, planned its virtual Gala and Awards Ceremonies, and launched the organization’s first podcast.
As a proud sixth generation North Philadelphian, Zakya is dedicated to building power for the people and places for whom it has been stolen. She currently serves as Program Chair on the board of Rebuilding Together Philadelphia, a nonprofit organization that free home repairs for low-income homeowners in Philadelphia, with a focus on health, safety, and energy efficiency. Zakya received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania.
