Caitlin Nagel is the Director of Advancement & Communications for Community Legal Services of Philadelphia (CLS), where she has worked since 2012. Ms. Nagel oversees CLS’s communications and individual giving fundraising programs, supervising a team to advance CLS’s mission.
In her role at CLS, Ms. Nagel facilitates CLS’s media contacts; develops and maintains CLS’s social media, publications, and other external communications; trains and assists CLS staff members with media outreach; writes and collaborates on reports, op-eds, and articles; develops communications advocacy strategies; and fundraises on behalf of CLS.
Ms. Nagel frequently presents at local, statewide, and national conferences on a variety of topics, including working with members of the media, writing op-eds, using social media to advance organizational goals, and storytelling as an advocacy strategy. She has written and ghostwritten for a variety of publications including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Management Information Exchange Journal.
Previously, Ms. Nagel worked at WETA TV26/90.9 FM in Washington DC, first as Major Giving Coordinator and later as Fundraising Data Analyst.
She is a graduate of Wheaton College (MA) and has a Master Degree in Public Policy from George Mason University.
