CLS and PLA Elect Two New Board Members

CLS and PLA Elect Two New Board Members

Community Legal Services (CLS) and Philadelphia Legal Assistance (PLA) have elected two new members to their overlapping Board of Directors: Steve Lee, Deputy General Counsel for Government Investigations at Comcast, and CLS client and advocate Adrianne Gunter.

Steve Lee said, “It is a great privilege to be part of organizations that do so much to serve Philadelphia’s most vulnerable citizens.  I am looking forward to working together with the other board members and the talented staff of CLS and PLA to ensure that all members of the community have access to justice regardless of income.”

“CLS reached out to me when they heard my case and I am grateful for their intervention. Without the lawyers at CLS, I would still be waiting for a disability hearing. Now, I have the ability to aid in my care. I'm honored to be on the Board of Directors because I want to give back to CLS and PLA so that others can get the help they need,” said Adrianne Gunter.

Founded in 1966, CLS is Philadelphia’s oldest and largest nonprofit law firm devoted to ensuring the access to justice for low-income people.  PLA has been Philadelphia’s federally-funded civil legal services provider since 1996.
