CLS and PLA Elect Three New Board Members

CLS and PLA Elect Three New Board Members

Community Legal Services (CLS) and Philadelphia Legal Assistance (PLA) have elected three new members. To the overlapping Boards of Directors, Nadeem Bezar, Partner at Kline & Specter PC; to the CLS Board, Melanie Foreman, Associate at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin;  and to the PLA Board, Shelly Solomon, Associate General Counsel at Fox Rothschild LLP.

Said Nadeem Bezar, “As lawyers, access to justice is the hallmark of what we hope to provide our clients.  The opportunity to join both the CLS and PLA boards -two organizations committed to providing access to justice, is a wonderful complement to the efforts I hope to achieve.  I am thrilled.”

Melanie Foreman said, “I am honored to be a member of the CLS Board of Directors, which is filled with so many members of our legal community who I admire.  The dedication CLS's attorneys and staff bring to legal services is truly inspiring.  Justice is for everyone; CLS not only reminds us of this, but also makes it happen.”

“I am both honored and thankful that PLA has chosen me to be a part of its organization.  Both PLA and CLS work hard to provide necessary legal services to those who may not have the means to obtain proper representation, or even basic information.  I look forward to working with them to continue to help the Philadelphia community have access to legal aid and justice,” said Shelly Solomon.

Founded in 1966, CLS is Philadelphia’s oldest and largest nonprofit law firm devoted to ensuring the access to justice for low-income people.  PLA has been Philadelphia’s federally-funded civil legal services provider since 1996.
