Property tax problems present in different ways. If you are behind on your taxes, or struggling to pay your property taxes, there are many programs to help homeowners get on track. Click here for more information on programs to help paying property taxes.
Housing counselors are also available to talk to people and help them sort out their property tax problems. We encourage people to start with a housing counselor, because many problems can be resolved with their help.
CLS has created a new Philadelphia Property Tax Handbook to answer all your questions, which is available here.
What we can do:
- If you have applied for a repayment agreement or state property tax rebate and have been denied, we may be able to help.
- If you have a Sheriff’s Sale scheduled or other court papers, we can review your case.
- CLS does not assist with billing disputes
- CLS does not assist with challenging property assessments.
We can only help with owner-occupied properties. We do help with tangled title matters. If you are living in a deceased family member's home, or are renting to own, or own the property but don't have a deed, you can still come to us for help.
