Maggie Dekker is a paralegal in the CLS Health & Independence Unit. Maggie, Philadelphia born and raised, is a proud graduate of both the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts’ Vocal Music program and Temple University’s undergraduate Sociology program.
After college, Maggie worked for a year as the Community Outreach Manager for the Honduras Child Alliance, an international non-profit organization that supports community-based educational enrichment for children and adults in El Porvenir, Honduras.
After returning to the States from Honduras, Maggie spent nearly two years working as a Bail Advocate in the Municipal Court Pretrial Unit at the Defender Association of Philadelphia. She was one of the first social service advocates to work in the Defender Association’s Bail Advocacy and Early Bail Review programs, both new initiatives developed to combat the injustices of Philly’s cash bail system. Maggie is thrilled to continue working with the Philadelphia community at CLS.
